The country is taking notice as thousands of students walk out of school to advocate for gun safety. Activists believe this is a huge step. One that will draw attention to the midterm elections in November 2018 and allow additional gun legislature to be passed.
The US military are taking an interest in Transcendental Meditation (TM) after it has been shown to be very effective at increasing efficiency and reducing stress, at Norwich, the oldest military university in the country. Other military universities are are now interested in introducing TM to their students.
There is now a program especially tailored to teaching nurses Transcendental Meditation. The program was brought into existence to deal with the problem of 'compassion fatigue' among nurses and healthcare workers. This is one nurse's account of what happened when she learnt TM.
A new low-residency MFA starts at MUM, with 18 students from around the country, doing their first 10 day residency. The class involved filmmakers Peter Farrelly and David Lynch. When not in residency the students will connect by internet with each other, and with 3 mentors. Their final residency will be in LA with Hollywood professionals. An important theme is the value of TM in filmmaking.
