By Joseph Boxerman

Bob Roth is the Chief Executive Officer of the David Lynch Foundation, an organization that draws all its income from donations, and then provides Transcendental Meditation instruction at no cost to the most stressed folks on the planet - parents and kids in Africa with PTSD, war vets with PTSD, inner city kids with PTSD, victims of abuse with PTSD, and many school projects worldwide.  Bob is both highly organized and wonderfully personable.

In the early days of Bob’s work with the media, I had the honor of working with him on a few projects the Maharishi University of Management Media Team.  Bob is a communicator who is fluent with the written word and the spoken word.

What do they have in common?

The answer is a Transcendental Meditation teacher named Bob Roth, who has spent the past forty-five years helping many thousands of people access their innate creativity and power through this simple, nonreligious technique. Roth’s students range from titans of business and the arts to federal prisoners, from war-scarred veterans to overworked moms and dads.

More than that, Bob is an incredible human being.  I have never seen anyone (with the exception of Maharishi) with so much energy and capability for accomplishment.  Beyond that, Bob is love incarnate.  When you talk with Bob you feel you are talking to your best friend - he is a great listener and appreciator.  He makes you feel valued, appreciated, admired.   Beyond that Bob is the soul of humility.  His great success, I feel, rests on this natural humility.  He never takes credit for what he does.  He wants to make a difference, to make the world a better place.

When the idea came out to write a book Bob was hesitant, reticent.  He had plenty to do already.  A ghost writer wrote the first draft.  Bob took that draft and then, in a blaze of fresh insight, re-wrote the entire book, from A to Z in a major all-night marathon session.

Proposals were sent to the top ten publishers.  And ten out of ten replied instantly “Yes, we want to do this.” (Normally you could wait weeks or months for a reply.)  So a bidding war began.  Of the $645,000 paid by Simon & Shuster for the advance Bob gave every penny to the David Lynch Foundation, to teach more kids TM.  Talk about commitment!

In these interviews, on America’s top talk and interview shows, you will see grateful students that Bob has taught over the years - the interviewers themselves!  Bob teaches inner city kids and he teaches the world’s celebrated celebrities!  They laugh with Bob, as they acknowledge the amazing transformation that TM has wrought in their pressure-cooker lives.
